Private House Lipki

A facade renovation of a house and garage completed fifteen years after the original interior fit-out. The architecture of both buildings had already dated at the time of construction; the task was to bring them into the present without touching the interior layout. A continuous canopy runs along the facade, connecting the garage to the main entrance and unifying two volumes that share neither scale nor form. The upper part of the facade is clad in dark basalt; the zone beneath the canopy is finished in timber — warm, tactile, and grounded. A gallery ties the two blocks together, resolving the compositional tension between them into a single coherent whole.
